I've been buying a great magazine out of the United Kingdom called Web Designer. An Australian Publisher Derwent Howard, took this magazine on in recent months and will hopefully start featuring more and more local content.A competition to design a new website for the Australian version of the magazine was run to which I submitted the design below and was awarded runner up. My design is mentioned in Issue 4, out now in all good newsagents.My attitude towards designing website user interfaces is that it should tell a story and create an experience for the user. The background I created for this design was specifically to tell the story of a web designer, working all hours, with a cup of coffee and the web designer magazine at hand to get through the long hours of the night.
